Life Is Short...

I had forgotten how much I loved this song...

Song:But the Days and Nights Are Long
Album: Sylvia Hotel
Written by: Cheryl Wheeler

Life is short, but the days and nights are long
Time will heal all these wounds
Some day soon
I'll be rising I'll be strong

But now I'm loosing all my battles
Now I'm down and dropping still
And this snow's blowing through
Like some ghost
With this blue I know too well

Broken hearts keep on beating just the same
So I guess I can too
Go through these moves
Facing forward, walking straight

But now my glance keeps drifting downward
Now my feet can't find their way
And this cold's creeping in
Through my bones
Whisperin it's here to stay

I'll bide my time, like there's any other way
It moves too slow, moves too fast
It's gone and past
And stopped entirely today

I know there's light on some horizon
But I can't see so far ahead
Patience and grace, blessed is love
I'm loosin my faith
In most of that stuff those wise men said

Let Me Sum Up A Biased Pictorial Of The 2010 Emmy's...

Mariska, Mariska & Chris...
(Err but no hottie husband Peter!)

P.S.

Because I can't stand the cuteness (and how romantic) this is...

“Mariska Hargitay, who celebrated her anniversary with husband Peter Hermann yesterday, walked the red carpet wearing the exact same hairdo she wore on her wedding day. Her Emmy dress is also inspired by her Carolina Herrera wedding dress.”

Caramel Pie

Last night I made this little caramel pie. (No photo because the USB cord to my camera is in Nashville :/) Its in the fridge now and will taste soon! I already think adding bananas or pecans would make it awesome too!
Ingredients
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
2 (14 ounce) cans sweetened condensed milk
1 (16 ounce) package frozen whipped topping, thawed
Directions
1.Pour the condensed milk into a heatproof bowl. Set over a pan or pot of simmering water. Cook, stirring occasionally for about 2 hours, replacing water as needed. (It is extremely important not to let the water run out!) When ready, the milk should be deep golden brown and thick.
2.Pour the caramelized milk into graham cracker crust and allow to cool. Top with whipped topping before serving.

Double Cone

I couldn't help but like this print! This (ice cream) cone remind me when I was a kid and you got hand dipped ice cream from the gas station down the street.

A Change

A blog name change... welcome to content.

I can't sleep... and I've had some time on my hands the last few days.

The word content and its meanings came to me in the shower.

I want to go back to the city. But this little town (with no Comcast high speed internet) reminds me to stop and look, and think, and breath. I used to enjoy doing those things, but I have been tired, and my internet was too fast to care.

The stopping of my life has been good for my aching neck and back, but hard on my heart. The content of this blog is to remind me of all the silly and serious, the beautiful and thought provoking things I constantly search for. Hopefully when I get back to the city, I will remember to stop and look, think, and breath in all that inspires me. -mh
